Delta-8 vs. CBD What’s the Difference

The demand for Delta-8 Hemp THC is has been trending the same way CBD did—slowly at first, and then skyrocketing. With less potent effects than your regular THC, delta-9 THC, both compounds have become popular alternatives. Unlike delta-9, delta-8 and CBD are both federally legal since they are derived from hemp, not the cannabis sativa plant.

With all that being said, those are really the only differences between delta-8 and CBD. Their effects are very different, and like the names would suggest, delta-8 is much more similar to delta-9 than it is to CBD.

What is Delta-8?

One molecule away from being delta-9, delta-8 is a smoother or “light” version of your typical THC. Providing relaxation, euphoria and the psychoactive “high” feeling (yes, it will get you high), delta-8 is extremely similar to delta-9. However, it is said by many users that is does not produce feelings of anxiety or paranoia, like many THC products on the market today do.

What is CBD?

CBD is one of the many non-psychoactive cannabinoids found in hemp. It provides wonderful physical benefits like reducing inflammation, easing sore muscles, healing skin and much more. Unlike delta-8 and delta-9, CBD doesn’t provide any mind-altering effects.

Which one is right for me?

The biggest difference between delta-8 and CBD is how they affect us, physically and mentally. If you prefer something a little more intense than CBD but not as psychoactive as delta-9, give delta-8 a try. On the flipside, if you’re looking for strictly physical benefits without any of that “high” feeling, you might want to opt for CBD.
